GOOD FOOD MEANS GOOD MOOD.

Meals are a simple, balanced, and important experience of social life. Children help set the tables and help serve so they can have a nice meal together. They receive four meals: breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. Water and beverages with no added sugar are always available.

 INDIVIDUALIZED DIETS

Diet diversification is a crucial stage in a child’s development. This is done at the child’s pace, in collaboration with parents. We devote particular attention to allergy risks, reported intolerances, and parents’ religious requirements.

A BALANCED DIET

Eating well is important for healthy growth. Consequently, we attribute great importance to ensuring that a child’s food intake matches the WHO’s recommendations; we also seek to educate and expand children’s tastes. All the products featured in our dishes are high-quality; we favor fresh, raw, seasonal products without any additives, industrial products, or flavor enhancers. We work directly with the parents to achieve our objective: to guarantee a diverse, balanced, suitable diet. All the dishes are provided by Food To You, Inc., and prepared by professional chefs.

NURSING

Starting daycare does not have to mean an end to breastfeeding. We encourage all mothers to come and breastfeed their infants at the center, work schedule permitting. We also encourage moms to continue to breastfeed for as long as they and their children enjoy it. Breastfeeding is natural and healthy for both mother and child. It helps the baby stay healthy and it is a unique bond between mom and baby. Moms are welcome to come to the center and breastfeed their babies on any day and any time. Parents are also welcome to bring bottled breast milk. Our recommendation is that you bring labeled bottles each day, packed with an ice pack. We will immediately place it in a refrigerator to keep it fresh, and the teacher will use it to feed your baby according to the baby’s need.

The center director will work out the details and procedures with you (times and places for feeding, etc.). Please note: although breast milk can be kept for two days in a refrigerator or three months in the freezer, for food safety and quality purposes we prefer to use breastmilk the day that we receive it.

 FOOD SAFETY AND HYGIENE

At Living the Language, we make a clear distinction between educational staff, custodial staff, and food service staff. It helps us ensure that hygiene is respected. However, all our teams—whether educational, custodial, or food service—are trained to respect strict hygiene and safety protocol, as set out by the Illinois Department of Public Health.. In addition, our center director ensures that standards and strict protocols for controlling sanitation are adhered to every day within our Center.
